hitting the wall
Glyphling
In my last post I talked about a little project I'd been working on.
The idea is that it's a life-sim type game with mostly ASCII characters that you can play in your browser. That's the idea, at least. It's built with Python and the Pyxel library. Lovely low-res goodness.
Since my last post there's a shell of a little fun game here.
You give yourself a name, it generates a quaint town full of little NPCs that yap at you. You can collect resources, although at this point it doesn't actually do anything. To be fair, there is no objective at this point, so it's hard to really say that it's a game, so-to-speak. There is unfortunately no sound with this current build. I just never got there, to be honest. It would kick the experience up a few notches.
It has been a fun project.
Here's some screenshots of the latest and greatest:
What's Next?
Honestly, maybe nothing.
Once the interesting bits have been worked out, I lose some motivation. Sometimes in the past I would fight with that. Like hey, finish a project! I don't care as much about that these days. It's all in good fun. If I want to work on it, I will. If not, I'll do something else. :)
Anyhow, here's a link to the latest build: glyphling build 0.1
see you 'round internet stranger,
